3-DAY ACTING BOOT CAMP: “HARRY POTTER” AND “DIARY OF ANNE FRANK”

Ages: 8 to 18

Classes: Daily 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Showcase: December 31, 2008 at 3:00 pm

Each day we will focus on a different aspect of acting skills: Monologues, Audition Technique, Improv, TV Commercials and Scenes. Participation will boost self-esteem and improve reading skills. Scenes from these popular shows will be used.  No singing or dancing.

 

KIDS IMPROV: COMEDY

Ages: 8 to 12

Classes: Mondays, 4:30-6:30 pm

Love to laugh?  Do people say, "You're so funny…YOU SHOULD BE A COMEDIAN!"  This class is all about laughter, sketches, standup and funny characters.  Students develop and perform original sketch comedies while developing their own style and learning comic timing. Participants will also have the opportunity to try out stand up in a safe and supportive environment.

 

TEEN IMPROV: COMEDY

NFT IMPROV TOURING COMPANY!!

Ages: 13 to 18

Students currently enrolled in the Improv Classes will have the opportunity to audition for the new Touring Company.  In addition to the weekly workshop, selected talent will attend additional rehearsals.  The Company will perform monthly at Noble Fool Theatricals as well as tour local schools and events.  Audition times and more information will be announced during scheduled classes.  Additional rehearsal days and times to be determined based on availability of performers.  If selected, participation fee is $50 to cover costs.

Have fun while learning the importance of correct breathing, posture and lyrics.  Discover how to act out the song by understanding the character’s emotions. No acting or dancing, just pure singing!

Performers in this group will memorize lines from selected scenes for this one-hour show performed for family and friends.  “Abby wants to be accepted as a new member of the school’s championship volleyball team. But Stephanie, the popular team captain, is upset that her friends have been spending time with Abby, so she begins an IM campaign to keep Abby off the court. The bullying, rumors, and backstabbing spin out of control.” No singing or dancing. Script edited to be “G” Rated.

 

THEATRE DANCE: CHOREOGRAPHY

Ages: 8 to 18

Classes: Thursdays, 4:30-6:30 pm

Develop basic theater dance technique while burning calories! Students will review all types of theater dance from past to present. Emphasis will be on theatre-style choreography and dance audition technique.  Overcome self-consciousness on stage with this energetic workshop.

 

ADULT SCENE STUDY CLASS: “Angels In America”

Ages: 16+

Classes: Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 pm

This fun class is designed for non-professionals as well as serious actors interested in sharpening their basic skills. All class members will improve confidence and public speaking skills.  Classes will assist actors in enhancing techniques they can use for any stage performance. Participants explore and perform scenes from a popular play based on events, individual objectives, beats and intentions. Character behavior, physical characteristics and emotions are also examined.  Rated PG-13.

 

TOTS MUSICAL PERFORMANCE CLASS: “Enchanted”

Ages: 3 to 5

Rehearsals: Saturdays, 10:30-11:30 am

Performers in this group will learn selected songs and choreography for a 15-minute condensed version of a classic show performed for family and friends.  Kids do not need to be able to read to participate. One parent or guardian must be present for the class.

SPRING BREAK ON-CAMERA BOOT CAMP: Commercials, TV, Film

Ages: 8 to 18

This fun on-camera class will unleash creativity while building acting skills and self-confidence. Students will learn the important differences between stage and on-camera acting. This course explores the skills necessary to audition and act for commercials, TV, and films. Students will learn to perfect their slate, make concrete acting "choices" and how to "own" their audition.  Includes on-camera review and video playback.  There will be supervision during the lunch hour for students also enrolled in the Theatre Acting Boot Camp.

 

SPRING BREAK THEATRE ACTING BOOT CAMP: “The Crucible”

Ages: 8 to 18
